A signature look

Cécile & Boyd, established in 1988, specialises in holistic lifestyle concepts and contemporary, innovative design schemes for small hotels, lodges and private residences. As co-founder Cécile Tilley retired and Boyd Ferguson continued their vision, a new brand look was needed. Boyd’s hand script as the ampersand became an iconic, heartfelt and energetic flourish to balance a classic and timeless wordmark.

The spirit of C&B approach was captured in the new brand: grounded glamour, understated elegance. The handmade feel of the ampersand and tactile papers combined with matt gold foils gives subtle contrast and echoes the feel of C&B’s signature interiors. The extended Cécile & Boyd elegantly reduces down to a C&B monogram.

Ninepoint also helped with various stationery and packaging projects – luxury candle ranges including incense and diffusers. An exciting summer range that utilised a signature woven wallpaper has become a favourite in store. A detailed portfolio and e-commerce website was designed and build by Ninepoint (now run by C&B’s internal design team). A signage and wayfinding project for their Cape Town lifestyle store is currently underway.
